Prevention/Cure

There is no universally accepted way of preventing myopia, but due to the fact that too much near work can cause near sightedness, it seems to be common sense that reducing near work may help in lowering the risk of developing myopia. This is even more important now in the age of the internet where people watch entire movies on their computers. Adopt an outdoor lifestyle, and encourage your children to do so, the benefits go beyond possible  myopia prevention.

Myopia may be corrected using spectacles, contact lenses or laser surgery. It is worth noting that even after laser surgery, myopia may return, possibly due to genetic predisposition and/or excessive near work.

Did you know that more than 80% of Chinese college students are myopic?

Studies have shown a correlation between higher IQ  and myopia.

If you suspect you or your loved one may be short sighted, book an appointment for an  eye test, with better vision, you’ll be able to enjoy a better quality of life.
