World Optometry Week
This week we celebrate World Optometry Week. We use this time to raise awareness of the importance of regular eye exams. Eye exams don’t only help diagnose and treat vision-related conditions but may help diagnose systemic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.

Year End Update
There’s still time to get your eye exam done before the end of the year. Contact us to book your appointment, to order contact lenses, spectacles or to purchase sunglasses. We close for the year on the 17th of December and we’ll reopen on the 3rd of January.

Issues with eye movements can result in difficulty reading, problems with accommodation (focusing) will manifest as […]

A child’s visual system develops from birth until about eight years of age. During this time the eyes learn to communicate with the brain. The optic nerves that connect the eyes to the brain gradually mature. This development is a vital part of achieving good vision. Eye problems during the first eight years of […]
Children’s Vision Continued
Often children are misdiagnosed as having attention disorders, when the actual problem is eye related. Issues with eye movements can result in difficulty reading, problems with accommodation (focusing) will manifest as avoidance of reading and poor concentration. Nearsightedness will result in them not being able to copy from the board simply because they can’t see […]
Children’s vision
Children of school going age should have an eye exam once a year. Eye problems are not limited to vision, but good muscular function and the ability to focus for prolonged periods are also important for academic success. Here are some signs to look for, which may indicate problems with the child’s visual system: Holds […]
